Bonsai

Today I was sitting watching TV, just kind of off in space. At some point, one of the dogs jumped up and almost knocked my little bonsai tree off the table. So, as I sat there staring at it, I realized I hadn't taken my picture of the day and that the bonsai tree itself is very interesting.

The bark is extremely cool and the leaves are a nice rich green. It's like a little hint of summer when the rest of the world is all snow covered and monochromatic!

oh wow! great shots! It definitely makes a nice splash of color on grey day for me. How easy are htey to keep (ie would I kill one if I had it easily?) FH and I tried a plant 2 summers ago and it only lasted a few weeks :( I think we need to try again before we attempt pets or kids ;)

Actually, they're fairly easy to care for. I mist it daily and you have to keep the soil watered. It's best to water them from the bottom. And you have to clip them if you don't want them to grow bigger.
