Looks like winter's coming in...





Well, it looks like winter has truly begun up here in the frozen north. We've avoided the white stuff so far but today we got our first real taste of that nasty snow stuff! Not a lot of it has fallen but we're supposed to be getting more, if you believe the weatherman!

We went out to grab a bite to eat this afternoon and then took a short drive down the river to get a few pictures of the day. Not a lot but I managed to get a couple nice shots even if it is a gray kind of day up here!

If you click on the first picture (provided I've uploaded them properly) and see the large size, you can see the flakes of snow coming down against the river! I liked the contrast of the layer of ice and the free water at the edge of the river, and the glare of the cloud covered sun off the ice and water. And finally, I liked the effect of that light skiff of snow over the sand.

I love the sand/snow one! We haven't been close to having snow yet here in NS.
